Geez, I haven't been here for ever. Someone reminded me about it,.. well it passed through a couple people before someone figured out who I was. :-) I figured I should pop back in and update my stuff, especially since I may have been causing problems for someone else with my comments.  :-(

I actually forgot this stuff was up or I would have probably pulled stuff down a while ago.

I have been thinking of writing a few things for public consumption though.  I think of a different angle on some subject and realize I should put virtual pen to paper.. but then I put if off long enough to forget my epiphany.

I think that last thing that came to mind was something about the Yoo Torture Memo.
Hmn..

Things I don't like about Sarah Palin

Someone I know recently announced that they support Sarah Palin. He said he preferred Sarah Palin, in general, over Obama, Biden, and McCain.

Needless to say, I was a bit bewildered, particularly because he said he's been reading up about her and that was the source of his growing appreciation for Palin.

I had to share a few reasons why I didn't like Palin but there's so much that you can't list everything off the top of your head. So, without further adeu, here is my "why I don't like Sarah Palin" list.

quick note: I can't attribute all of these incidents directly to Sarah Palin but they happened under her governance.. particularly in small scale environments where she should have, and in fact claims, extensive Administrative control. I'll come back with links to support these when I get a chance.

Fiscal Conservative

- During two years as Mayor of Wasilla, the town's debt went from zero to a $20,000,000 deficit. This is generally attributed to infrastructure improvements and overages related to an Professional Size ice rink. The rink went approximately $1.3 Million over budget due to an Imminent domain dispute.

- Palin juggled taxes while Mayor of Wasilla, then went on to claim she was a tax champion. As mayor, Palin drastically cut the property tax while increasing Sales tax and issuing public bonds to the tune of ~$2,200 per person. This type of dissembling is common with Palin.

- Palin campaigned, in part, on acquiring Federal Funding for the "Bridge to Nowhere". Palin was photographed in a shirt which made fun of the bridge controversy during her campaign.
The final funding for the bridge fell apart only after millions were already allocated to Alaska. It was only after the deal was dead that Palin came out against wasteful bridge spending.
